Global Center of Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability (GCSMUS)

13. January 2020

Since January 2020, the DAAD has been funding the new transdisciplinary research project “Global Center of Spatial Methods for Urban Sustainability” (GCSMUS) at the TU Berlin. The project brings together 48 institutional partners from 47 countries and 8 world regions and will be funded by the DAAD within the framework of the programme “Higher Education Excellence in Development Cooperation (exceed)” for the next five years. The Center cooperates closely with the SFB 1265 and is led by our subproject leaders Prof. Dr. Nina Baur (A03, Department of Methods of Social Research) and Prof. Dr. Angela Million (A02, Department of Urban Design and Development). The partners jointly strive for transdisciplinary method development in spatial research and focus on development goal 11 of Agenda 2030: “Making cities and settlements more inclusive, safer, more resilient and more sustainable”.
