A research network is being established for the DFG project entitled: “Cross-border mobility: Socio-economic and spatial dynamics of short-distance transboundary migration in Germany.” The project aims at understanding commuters’ motivations and expectations as well as socio-economic and spatial impacts of the cross-border commuting with a focus on the relation between global inequalities and labor market. An interdisciplinary network will be established to strengthen communication and collaboration between the researchers from various disciplines such as: geography, border studies, urban studies, and sociology, who are involved in research on the cross-border mobility in Europe.
Researchers who are interested in collaborating can contact the project coordinator: Dr. Elifcan Karacan via Email: karacan(at)tu-berlin.de
