Events
The workshop is organised by three subprojects of the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) ‘Re-Figuration of Spaces’ – A01 ‘Geographical Imaginations: People’s Sense of Security and Insecurity in a cross-generationalComparison’; A02 ‘Education: The Spatial Knowledge of Children and Young Adults in Planning Contexts’; and B04 ‘Locative Media: Inclusion and Exclusion in Urban Spaces’ – which research changes of spatial knowledge as well as different processes and forms of space constitution. Common denominator of the three projects is the investigation of the aforementioned phenomena regarding children, teenagers and young adults. The workshop aims to discuss preliminary findings of the subprojects together with invited experts and other members of the CRC, in order to shed light on empirical data and develop potential interpretations thereof. To that end, on the first day, a snapshot of the CRC “Re-Figuration of Spaces” and each particular subproject shall be presented and followed by a Q&A session. Afterwards, in a plenary session open to other members of the CRC as well, experts share their views on how their research work connects with the “Re-Figuration of Spaces”.
On the second day, first empirical results are to be debated and possible interpretations outlined by workshop participants.Guests A01:Kathrin Hörschelmann (Leibniz-Institut für Länderkunde) & Matt Benwell (Newcastle University) A02: Raphaela Kogler (Universität Wien) B04: Sabine Meier (Universität Siegen) &Keita Matsushita (Jissen Women’sUniversity, Tokyo)
